Description of Programs:
The Academy provides students with an integrated math and science curriculum presented in an extended 160 minute block. The program focuses on a hands-on, interactive approach to learning which employs real-life applications. Strategies for preparing students for Advanced Placement coursework are incorporated in the Academy curriculum. This challenging program places a strong emphasis on high mathematics and science through the utilization of the scientific method. Performance-based learning enables our students to apply newly acquired concept and ideas to real-life situations in business, industry, research, and government. The use of technology is an important aspect of the program and is used to assist in the development of higher level thinking skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
