Cashman Academy of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering (AMSE) is a cutting- edge program that addresses the interests of middle school students, while incorporating the national standards in mathematics, science, and technology. The program provides students with an integrated engineering, science, and mathematics curriculum in extended blocks. Cashman's AMSE program provides project-based learning - a hands-on approach - that is exciting and fun for highly motivated students seeking a rigorous educational experience. The program relates technology to students' daily lives while fostering communication and collaboration by emphasizing a teaming approach. The five units of study include: Design and Modeling, The Magic of Electrons, The Science of Technology, Automation and Robotics, and Flight and Space. The goal of the AMSE program is to enhance academic achievement and provide opportunities and motivation for students to ask questions, seek answers, explore ideas, acquire knowledge and experience understanding.
