Program Goal
To provide adult mentors from the business community to offer support and guidance to high school students who are at risk of dropping out of school. Mentors will encourage students to stay in school and will promote future education and career focus.
Target Population
Clark County School District high school senior students, who are off tack to graduate and who would benefit receiving the support and guidance of a caring adult.
Mentoring Commitment
Mentors are asked to commit a minimum of one hour per week to a student for the length of a school year. Mentors will assist the mentee in developing personal, social and academic growth. Mentoring services occur at the school site during school hours.
Criteria to Select Mentors
- Make a commitment of one hour per week
- Submit a mentor application
- Attend an interview
- Agree to background check
- Sign information release form
- Attend an orientation session
