Secondary School Highlights:

ACCES Software:
All secondary school ECS's received the newest version of Acces software last fall, however new updates continue to be posted on the Educaide website. Once the software has been installed on their computers, teachers can download any additional updates by going to: www.educaide.com/docs. These free updates will continue to be available to all secondary schools in Clark County and include bug-fixers, user-interface enhancements, an updated typesetting engine, and an updated program manual.

Department Chair Leadership Training:
On August 21, 2008, the middle school and high school department chairs participated in a full day of training entitled “Becoming a PRIME Teacher and Leader”. This was the first of a four part training that will take place throughout the 2008-2009 school year.


Mathematics of Personal Finance:
This is a new course introduced for the 2008-2009 school year.  It is intended for seniors only.  Teachers were inserviced prior to the start of the new school year.  They learned about resources available to them and the overall intent of the course.  This course was created to teach our students how to make financially sound decisions in the future. 

Topics in Modern Mathematics:
This course was also introduced for the 2008-2009 school year. This class is intended for the college bound seniors who are looking for an exciting and challenging class to take during their senior year of high school.
