Mission


To increase student achievement by supporting teachers new to the Clark County School District in their development as professional educators.



We support new teachers by providing the following PUBLICATIONS:
  • Great Beginnings
    This practical guide contains ideas and strategies to help all new teachers be effective during their first year.

  • Tips for New Teachers
    Each teacher is given a calendar that provides daily tips. This advice is from last year’s new teachers and other educators.

  • New Teacher Connection
    This newsletter for new teachers contains timely information and helpful suggestions.

We provide opportunities for new teachers to make a smooth TRANSITION into our community:

  • New Teacher Welcome Center (July—August)
    Located in the Curriculum & Professional Development Center, the Welcome Center provides relocation information including housing, banking, and community and district resources.

  • Community Day
    This day provides opportunities for new teachers to get to know colleagues from their  same region of the country. Sessions are offered on leisure activities and personal interest topics.  Additional information regarding local community and district agencies and organizations is provided.
