Quick Reference for Teacher Voice Mailboxes

Set Up Voice Mailbox

Note: You must set up your voice mailbox in order to receive messages.

* Your personal 8-digit voice mailbox number & your school's Voice Mail System 855-xxxx number are obtained from the school administrator or other designee.

Choose one of the following methods to initialize your mailbox:


1. Initialize from a non-Alcatel Non-Wan phone

To initialize the voice mailbox from non-Alcatel (Non-WAN) phone, such as from home, schools not on WAN, etc.

  • Dial Voice Mail System 855-xxxx number*
  • Press the pound sign (#)
  • Enter your personal 8-digit mailbox number*
  • Enter the default password (the default password is your 8-digit voicemail number)
  • You will be prompted to change your password, minimum 4-digits
  • Record your name and choose a greeting option. (You may choose a standard greeting or record a personal greeting.)

2. Initialize from a new Alcatel WAN phone

To initialize your voice mailbox from a new Alcatel WAN phone (WAN school or site):

  • Dial your personal 8-digit mailbox number*
  • Press 1 when voice mail picks up
  • Enter the default password (the default password is your 8-digit voicemail number)
  • You will be prompted to change your password, minimum 4-digits
  • Record your name and choose a greeting option. (You may choose a standard greeting or record a personal greeting.)
  • You must set up the voice mail or you will not be able to retrieve messages.

Access Voice Mail (after initializating the mailbox)

From a non-Alcatel Non-Wan phone

  • Dial Voice Mail System 855-xxxx number*
  • Press the pound sign (#)
  • Enter your personal 8-digit mailbox number*
  • Follow the prompts

From a new Alcatel WAN phone

  • Dial your personal 8-digit mailbox number*
  • Press 1 when voice mail picks up
  • Enter the default password (the default password is your 8-digit voicemail number)
  • You will be prompted to change your password, minimum 4-digits
  • Record your name and choose a greeting option. (You may choose a standard greeting or record a personal greeting.)
  • You must set up the voice mail or you will not be able to retrieve messages.

Change Your Password

To change your password, open your voice mail and follow the steps below.

  • Press 4 - Personal options
  • Press 2 - Administration
  • Press 1 - Password
  • Press 1 - Personal
  • Press 1 - Enter Password
  • Press # - Finish

Greetings

To change your greeting, open your voice mail and follow the steps below.

  • Press 4 - Personal options
  • Press 3 - Greetings
  • Press 1 - Personal Greeting or Press 2 - Record Personal Greeting
  • Press 2 - Extended Absence
  • Press # - Finish

While Listening To A Message

Press 1 to listen to the message

  • Press 11 - Start of message
  • Press 1 - Back 5 seconds
  • Press 2 - Pause/Restart
  • Press 3 - Forward 5 seconds
  • Press 33 - End of message
  • Press 4 - Slower
  • Press 6 - Faster

At the end of the message

  • Press 4 - Replay
  • Press 5 - Envelope
  • Press 6 - Send a Copy
  • Press 7 - Erase
  • Press 8 - Reply
  • Press 9 - Save

Delete messages after you have heard them to free space for new messages.
