Clark County School Police celebrates 41 years of service
The Clark County School District Police Department is committed to providing top quality service to the School District and the Las Vegas community. From our humble beginnings in 1967, we have grown into one of the premier school-based law enforcement agencies in the nation. We are proud of our accomplishments and are looking forward to continued service to our stake holders. To ensure we achieve our mission, we have voluntarily undertaken national law enforcements accreditation and management process assessments.
The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, C.A.L.E.A., has established standards that are designed to increase the capabilities of law enforcement, control crime, and reduce our liability. Accreditation standards promise the school district and our community that the Clark County School District Police Department meets a variety of national and state standards. In adopting these exclusive accreditation standards, we guarantee our schools and the citizens of the community that our function as the Clark County School Police Department will continue to be exemplary.

MANAGEMENT PROCESS SYSTEM
In conjunction with the nationally recognized standards of C.A.L.E.A., the Clark County School District Police Department has also joined the School District in participating in the Management Process System (MPS). The Management Process System focuses on a commitment to provide the highest quality of service to its employees, community and the students and parents. The School District along with the School Police Department will achieve the highest quality of service through evaluation and continuous improvement of “performance based on the goals, and objectives of the A+ Plan of Access, Accountability, and Achievement.”
In order to attain our commitment to the Management Process System and the schools and community we serve with the highest performance standards, the Clark County School District Police Department has adopted the principles of the International Standards Organization or ISO 9001:2000. The ISO 9001:2000 was established on “quality management”. The International Standards Organization suggests the steps our organization needs to take in order to enhance our customer satisfaction by meeting applicable regulatory requirements. In addition, we will maintain our focus on eight principle standards: Customer focus, Leadership, Involvement of people, Process approach, System approach to management, Continual improvement, Factual approach to decision making, and mutually beneficial supplier relationships. The Clark County School Police Department received its first certification in ISO 9001:2000 in 2004 and has since been re-accredited. The certification marked the first time that a school-based law enforcement agency had attained this prestigious status.
The Clark County School District Police Department is dedicated to providing the finest service to the School District and to our community we support. We will accomplish our mission through continued improvement of our service standards through C.A.L.E.A., MPS, and ISO 9001:2000.
