Kirsten Searer named chief of staff & external relations

As part of the Clark County School District’s (CCSD) ongoing reorganization, Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky announced on Aug. 13, 2013 that Chief of Staff Kirsten Searer will have a new title and new responsibilities. Effective immediately, Searer will be the chief of staff and external relations and will supervise the district’s Communications Office. The move is part of Skorkowsky’s plan to make internal and external communications key priorities so that employees, parents and the community are informed and engaged in the district’s reform efforts. Searer joined CCSD in 2011. Prior to joining CCSD, she was the director of public relations and communications for the Grand Canyon Skywalk. Searer also served as a communications director for the 2008 Obama campaign and she began working in Las Vegas in 2004 as a reporter for the Las Vegas Sun.
