Superintendent presents scholarships to Sandy Valley HS grads

On July 18, 2012, Superintendent Dwight D. Jones presented Sandy Valley High School graduate Aspen Gonzales with a scholarship named after his father, DeWayne D. Jones, the first African-American land owner in Western Kansas in 1962. The scholarship was given to several students from Sandy Valley in honor of Superintendent Jones' father, who believed in the importance of students from rural areas attending college.
