Linking Instructional Needs and Key Supports

The LINKS Team promotes collaboration among parents, students, and educators to ensure students and their families have the necessary specialized services available for success.

About the LINKS Team

The LINKS Team provides direct services, consultative services, technical support, parent training, classroom consultation, professional development opportunities and supplemental programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The following are resources that may be provided by the LINKS Team:

  • Individualized student support and intervention
  • On-site technical assistance
  • Professional Development
  • Parent Training

The LINKS Team is comprised of administration, teachers and highly trained support staff personnel. This transdisciplinary team has a wide variety of experiences and promotes a cooperative and collaborative model of support.


The LINKS Teams' Autism Area provides a variety of services to CCSD staff and parents of students with autism. The LINKS team provides comprehensive professional development to staff that focuses on the successful utilization of evidence-based approaches to learning (e.g. Applied Behavior Analysis and Discrete Trial Teaching).  Additionally, The LINKS Team consults with teachers and staff, on a referral basis, to address individual student, teacher or classroom issues not addressed through the district wide professional development opportunities. Finally, The LINKS team offers a unique service model to empower parents by helping them to develop and practice practical strategies that assist their child in the home and community.

Professional Development

The LINKS Team provides professional development and coaching to schools, Alternative route to Licensure and Certification special education teachers, and paraeducators in the following areas:

  • Inclusive practices
  • Behavioral Support
  • Co-Teaching
  • Understanding Nevada Academic Content Standards and its connection to the IEP
  • Mentoring 1st-3rd-year Alternative Route to Licensure (ARL) and 1st-3rd-year Alternative Route to Certification (ARC) special education teachers
  • Instructional Support

The LINKS Team, in collaboration with Employee Onboarding and Development, provides professional development for pre-service special education teachers in the areas of curriculum, compliance, and behavior.
