Substitute Job Opportunities
There are several types of substitutes in the Clark County School District including substitute "Guest" Teachers, Support Staff "Paraprofessional" Substitutes, and Coaching.
Substitute teachers or guest teachers serve in the absence of a regular contracted teacher. Guest teachers must have earned a minimum of 60 college credits and are required by the State of Nevada to hold a valid Substitute Teaching license. Being a substitute teacher is also a great way for individuals who are working toward a degree in education to gain valuable classroom experience.
Support Staff Substitute
Support Staff Substitutes or Paraprofessional substitutes serve in the absence of a regular Support Staff employee such as an Instructional Assistant, Special Programs Teacher Assistant, Physical Education Aide, and Library Aide. If you are interested in gaining experience in a field other than teaching, a support staff substitute may be the position for you. Support Staff Substitutes are required to hold a minimum of a High School diploma.
