New Teacher Events
The New Teacher Induction Program supports new teachers by offering the opportunity to make a smooth transition into the Las Vegas Community by hosting the New Teacher Welcome Center, the Get to Know Your Community event and New Teacher Socials.
New Teacher Welcome Center
The New Teacher Welcome Center is open during the months of July – August. The center provides relocation information including housing, banking, and community and District resources. Experienced teachers are available to answer questions regarding the district.
Get to Know Your Community
Get to Know Your Community focuses on sharing information about the Las Vegas Community. Participants are given the opportunity to attend informational sessions which meet their specific interests and needs. Session topics include; sports and fitness, shopping, dining, museums, parks and recreation, hiking, and entertainment. A community informational mall is also available for participants to visit. Community organizations and businesses are in attendance to share information related to the community.
New Teacher Socials
The New Teacher Induction Program partners with the School-Community Partnership Office to offer a variety of social events for new teachers. The events include free or reduced ticket prices for local entertainment and sporting events.
