The Health Occupations Career Fair, held at CSN's Charleston Campus November 13, provided nearly 500 juniors and seniors from all the magnet health career programs in CCSD an opportunity to listen to seven medical presenters and visit with college recruiters.

More than 200 CCSD students involved in Nevada School of the Arts, a non-profit group, will take part in the annual “December to Remember“ to be held Saturday, December 5 in Downtown Las Vegas’ Cultural Corridor. Learn more about Nevada School for the Arts at www.nsamusic.org.

Daniel Edmondson, a senior at Boulder City High School, was recently recognized as one of Nevada's honorees for the 2009 Prudential Spirit of Community Award. The award honors young people who are making a positive difference in their communities and inspiring others to contribute. State honorees receive a $1,000 award, an engraved silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for several days of national recognition events.

At least 17 CCSD students will take part in the Synchronized Swimming Show to be held Saturday, Dec. 19 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road. The swimmers will perform to holiday music. Admission is free. Call 229-6309 for details.

Zach Milemore, a 6th-grader at Knudson Middle School, had his drawing chosen as the "month of June" for Silver State Schools Credit Union's 2010 Calendar contest. He received $100 and a plaque, as well as a matted version of his original artwork.

The Clark County School District congratulates the 18 students in grades 6, 7 and 8 who were semifinalists in the recent CCSD Spelling Bee. The competition was held Oct. 27, and these students will advance to the CCSD Final Spelling Bee on Dec. 9 at Vegas PBS (Channel 10).
Wednesday October 21, 2009 - Students
Twenty CCSD students took part in a recent workshop of the Wolfgang Puck Culinary Council. They taste-tested four recipes developed in conjunction with Wolfgang Puck.
