Hotline Submission Guidelines

HOTLINE is an official employee publication of the Clark County School District. It is a one-page, 81/2"x11" flier distributed weekly to employees during the twelve-month school year.

Categories

News from the School Board, News from the Superintendent, Official Announcements, Meetings/Upcoming Events, School Trading Post, Jobs, Miscellaneous, and Professional Growth/Course Offerings.

Policy

All items submitted for publication in the HOTLINE must be in accordance with Clark County School District policies, regulations, and guidelines.

Format

All items should be submitted in writing and typed or neatly printed and double-spaced (no more than 50 words in length).

Each item should be submitted separately. Each item must have the first and last name and telephone number of a contact person within the item, so that HOTLINE readers will know who to call for additional information.

Each item also must include the name and telephone number of the person submitting the item. This is vital if the person submitting the item is different from the person responding to questions from readers.

Deadline

Items must be received in writing in the Communications Office by 9 a.m. Monday to be considered for the HOTLINE of the following week.

Unacceptable Material

Generally, items of a commercial nature or for personal monetary gain will not be accepted. Examples of unacceptable items include: major cruise and trip listings, student foreign exchanges, commercial promotions, and charitable solicitations except as authorized by the district.

Donation requests and fund-raisers that benefit individuals are generally unacceptable. Item selection and use are at the discretion of the editor. Submitted items are not guaranteed publication.

Content

Priority is given to items submitted by school district departments, employees, related educational and/or employee organizations, professional organizations related to district activities or interests, and community organizations.
