FOCUS SCHOOL PROJECT

The Focus School Project matches Clark County schools with business, organizations, agencies, and individuals to bring needed resources to students. The project, which began in 1989, is an important part of the district's School-Community Partnership Program. The Focus School Project participants build programs based on the partnership mission which is to "Unify business and community resources to enhance the educational experience."

WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THIS PROJECT?

The goals of the Focus School Project are to assess, then address, the special needs of Clark County students through programs involving health, tutors, mentors, student incentives, teacher recognition, facility enhancements, equipment upgrades, office assistance, and classroom volunteers. The Focus School Project can help students increase their achievement, self-concept, and understanding of the resources and opportunities in the community.

WHO CAN BECOME INVOLVED?

Any business, agency, organization, or individual can be a Focus School Project participant. Schools may be matched with several supporters to best meet student needs.

HOW DO FOCUS SCHOOL PROJECT PARTNERS BENEFIT?

Partners involved in the Focus School Project gain personal satisfaction from helping students gain more from their school experience. Participation in the Focus School Project is a demonstration of community awareness and commitment. The time, energy, and resources you will provide as a partner are good investments. Our parents and students are the consumers and producers of the future. Most importantly, being a Focus School Project partner is a lot of fun!

HOW CAN I BECOME INVOLVED?
