Allison Gaston, Advanced English/Reading teacher; Hadari Donovan, sixth grade student; Linda Alterwitz, director of community projects for Walker furniture and organizer of the Teacher Appreciation Day program, and Kristal Donovan, Hadari's mother relax in the newly furnished teachers' lounge at Orr Middle School. Hadari's essay on his favorite teacher, Ms. Allison Gaston, was selected from hundreds of other middle school students. Walker Furniture selected his essay and donated brand new furniture to the teachers' lounge at William E. Orr Middle School. Hadari also won a pizza party for his class and received a $100 check.
