Volleyball teams raise $$ to fight breast cancer

The women's volleyball teams at Centennial and Palo Verde High Schools raised $8400 to support the Side Out Foundation Dig Pink Fundraiser to raise awareness regarding breast cancer. Centennial raised $5100 and Palo Verde collected $3300 in a friendly competition between the two schools.

CCSD students featured in sychronized swim show

At least 17 CCSD students will take part in the Synchronized Swimming Show to be held Saturday, Dec. 19 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road. The swimmers will perform to holiday music. Admission is free. Call 229-6309 for details.

Lake ES teacher creates children's book

Lake Elementary School ELL Specialist Kathryn Grant has written and illustrated a children's book, "The Ants and the Clouds Knew Why." The rhymed story of a curious pig has been published in both English and Spanish. A native of Indiana, Grant has been with CCSD for 20 years.

"GIS Day" to be observed Nov. 18 at six schools

CCSD to receive funds for solar technology

The Clark County School District will receive $761,000 from the federal government to install new solar technology that will provide high quality daytime lighting. The new system will provide natural light without generating heat and will thus save on air conditioning costs.
