Class Web Pages

The teachers at Beatty Elementary have created and maintain their own web pages. Important class information and assignments are posted regularly throughout the school year. Homework assignments are updated every week. The Beatty Class Web Pages are a great way to stay in touch with your teacher and classroom.

Let It Snow!

It's hard to imagine that Las Vegas can go from 115 degrees in the summer to a winter wonderland in December. Thanks to a very unusual snow storm, that's exactly what happened on Wednesday, December 17. Students did not have school due to Parent-Teacher conferences.

At the end of a long, snowy day, the Clark County School District made an announcement that many people thought they would never hear in Las Vegas: "Due to weather conditions and for the safety of students, all Clark County School District schools will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, December 18). Students should not report to campus." That's right, Las Vegas students had a snow day!

This exciting event was a great photo opportunity. If you have pictures you would like to share on our website, please email them and we will post your pictures for everyone to enjoy. Check out the pictures that have been sent in so far.

Budget Cuts

The CCSD Board of Trustees recently reviewed the input they received from members of the community concerning budget reductions. Click here to view all the documents presented at the December 3 meeting.

Online Math and Reading Resources

Don’t have a computer or internet access?  Wednesday nights from 3:15—6:00 pm, the computer lab at Beatty Elementary is open for families to use. Students must be accompanied by an adult.  Get help with homework, too!

This year we are promoting the online math and reading resources we have available to all of our students. Our core programs, Trophies Reading and EnVision Math, both have websites with supplemental materials to enrich and remediate classroom lessons. We also have programs for students in grades 2-5 that are based on Nevada State standards in reading and math.   more information

District F: F-Troop Information

Beatty Elementary sits in School Board District F.Your school board trustee is Carolyn Edwards.  Trustee Edwards holds monthly meetings called ‘F-Troop’ which are open for anyone to attend. This is an opportunity to meet your trustee, learn about the board and the school district, and provide feedback.  Her next meeting is Wednesday, January 14, 2009, 9:30 am. at Beatty Elementary School.    more information

To help you more effectively monitor the progress of your child, the Clark County School District provides ParentLink, a computer based system by which you can track your child's grades and attendance. Simply enter the login ID and password that have been provided to you to review you child's information. If you do not have a login ID and password, please contact the school office.

Dental Care Comes to Beatty

Beatty Elementary School is partnering with Reachout Healthcare America to bring school-based dental care to low-income children who are currently without dental services. A dental team will visit Beatty approximately once every 4-8 weeks. When clinically indicated and with parent permission, the dental team will provide exams, digital x-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and fillings. A typical visit usually takes about 45 minutes per child. In addition to receiving free dental work, students are taught how to properly care for their teeth.

Help us break down the barriers to learning for our students who are suffering from poor oral health. Dental permission forms are available in the health office. Signed forms should be returned to school as soon as possible. This program is being coordinated by our school nurse, Denise Monaco.   more information
