1) What are Rex Bell's school hours?

The school day starts at 9:00 a.m. and runs until 3:21 p.m.

The front office is open from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Breakfast is served to all students who want it at 8:30 a.m.

Students are allowed on the playground at 8:35 a.m. There is NO supervision on the playground until 8:35 a.m. so please do not send your student to school until that time.

2) What days will my student have vacation?

Rex Bell Elementary School is a year-round school, meaning the school is open all year. Your child will be assigned a track, 1-5, and rather than have three months off in the summer, vacations will be spread throughout the school year. If you know your child's track number, click here to view the 2008-2009 track calendar.

3) What are Rex Bell’s attendance guidelines?

Your child’s education is very important to us at Rex Bell Elementary School. Therefore it is imperative that your child attend school on a regular basis. Rex Bell Elementary School, along with the Clark County School District, have adopted the following attendance guidelines:

**Tardiness:  “A student is to be marked tardy who is not physically present in the classroom at the start of
the instructional day…”

**Absenteeism: “An elementary student shall be recorded as absent for half of the day if more than one hour and fifty-five minutes of the instructional day are missed and recorded as absent for the entire day if more than three hours and forty-five minutes of the instructional day are missed”.

**Retention: “Elementary students who exceed twenty (20) unapproved absences during the school year shall be retained in the current grade”.

4) How do I know which school my student is zoned for?

Click here and type in your address to find out which Elementary, Middle or High School your student is zoned for.

5) How do I set up an appointment with my child's teacher?

It is your right as a parent to set up an appointment with your child's teacher at any time during the school year. To do so, call the main office at 702-799-5910 and ask to set up an appointment with your child's teacher. Teachers are very busy and would be appreciative if you would call to set up a meeting time. Stopping by your teacher's classroom during the school day without an appointment is not conducive to a productive conference because the teacher may be educating your child at that time or planning how best to help your child succeed in school.
