Reading Lists
Motivate your child to read!	Mrs. Salem, Walter Bracken Librarian, has compiled a list of books to motivate your child to read. Each list is by grade level. Click on the grade level for your child. This requires Adobe Reader. Pre-School Kindergarten First Grade Second Grade Third Grade Fourth Grade Fifth Grade

The Library Media program at Bracken Elementary will include many activities designed to enhance your children’s interaction with the wonderful world of children’s literature. They will be introduced to many children’s authors and their respective works and will have opportunities to enjoy different literary genres. Students will have the opportunity to actively respond to literature in a variety of formats.

Our students at Walter Bracken are always investigating and that holds true for the activities in the Library Media Center as well. Our library curriculum is designed to help the students become successful seekers and users of information. Many of the activities, beginning in grade three, will involve research and problem-solving strategies and will provide the students with an opportunity to delve deeper into topics which interest them. Students will work individually and in small groups to brainstorm, to seek out information to meet their needs, and will be able to present their findings using a variety of technologies.
