Services Brown Junior High features a full-service library, under the direction of Librarian Mrs. Gerrie Smith. |
||
book stacks feature almost 12,000 titles, both fiction and non-fiction Policies Each student will check out books using their student number. These numbers will already be in the computer so all you need to do is present your student ID to the Librarian or an assistant to check out. You may check out two books for a period of two weeks. Those with overdue books will not be allowed to check out other books until the problem is resolved. You must have your student ID to check out. A minimal fine of 10 cents per day will be charged for overdue books. After one month on the overdue list, you will be charged the cost of replacing the book. If anyone causes irreparable damage to a book, you will be charged the cost of replacing the book. As stated in the school agenda, NO student will be allowed to eat or chew gum in the library. Food and gum are very damaging to library materials! We encourage you to patronize the library during opportunity period and most lunch periods. You must have a library pass to come to the library during lunch! Please respect one another by using the library as a place for studying, reading, and researching materials. At the discretion of the classroom teacher, a corridor pass will be given allowing you to visit the library. There may be times when you visit and discover a class there, please feel free to enter and find a place to sit at an empty table. If you are considerate and mannerly, all library patrons will accomplish their work. We will be happy to copy library materials for you. A fee of 5 cents per page is charged for all copying. The reference section is strictly for library use. These materials are too costly to check out. Your visitation to Brown JHS library is important to me. I hope this library privilege is one you will use often. |
