Burkholder Middle School

This will be a temporary page (through 2008-09 school year)to keep our parents, students and staff up to date on the new ParentLink system. Rather than use our main page for postings, we will have this page devoted to issues and information.

NOTES:

1. We can ONLY fix Burkholder student issues, please contact the school where the grade originates.

2. I highly recoomend you change your USERID and PASSWORD immediately upon your first log-in. All past users, please do the same......this really helps the system!

3. Parent information (like phone numbers) that are already there. These are from MAIN system and cannot be edited on ParentLink, BUT, you can add your new ones and enable those. (see next note #4)

4. Please use the registrar to permanently change information in the system, that you cannot change or delete. This is stored on the main computer (not ParentLink) and you'll need to stop by or phone to get this changed.

5. Assignments show in a list form, by QUARTER....not like the "test" period. Please note that assignment MAY be there in advance (to assist student & parent in what's coming due), and therefore MAY NOT have a grade...yet. This does NOT alter current grades at all.

6. Use your MERGE to bring together multiple accounts into ONE easy to use account. This will be for multiple students OR if spouses wish to make ONE JOINT account out of their two. As your other children become part of the system, they will automatically continue to "merge" INTO your central account. IF THEY do NOT, simply "merge" them easily yourself.

7. Faster updating (effective 3/24/08), has been working, but not perfectly. Gradebooks are going to the web in hours rather than a full day, but this not 100% yet.

a. Click on "Teacher Name".......to e-mail (be SURE you have YOUR e-mail set up on YOUR computer).

b. Click on "assignments" to open assignment listing

c. Click on "subject" to go to established teacher website...NOT all teachers have a website, nor are they required to maintain one.

d. Carefully check "tardys" and "attendance"....to be sure it
corresponds with your knowledge and approval.

8. CCSD information is in secured servers...NO ACCESS.

Please keep your telephones numbers, E-MAIL addresses and cell phone number up to date. This is how we get in contact with you in case of emergency or other issues.

Initial password issues (a few still there):

A few minor issues still come up when changing or issuing passwords. Simply.....they sometimes don't update the first time, and we or you have to repeat the process. It something to be aware of, and easy to fix by trying again.



Tips and reminders:

1. Protect your account. This one is NOT for students.
2. Please, edit "your account" information to be sure it's current.
3. Change BOTH your USERID and your PASSWORD immediately, as you see fit. ( then, hit "save")
4. Have TWO accounts? Use "merge"...
5. As schools are added to ParentLink, your children attending that school will be added to your account automatically.
6. Attendance dials out DAILY.
7. Watch your "message" page for things we discussed.

You can access your account from any computer or telephone. Follow the instructions on your card.
