Principals Message

Greetings Del Sol Families!

What an exciting time this is!  As your new principal, I am thrilled to serve the students, parents and business partners that have developed into a “community” over the past four years.  I am confidant that my experience as an administrator for fifteen years at the secondary level will facilitate my success at Del Sol High School, as I collaborate with all stakeholders to provide a safe, stimulating learning environment for our students.  Since I arrived on campus in June, it has been my privilege to meet teachers who are dedicated, students who are enthused, and parents who are supportive.  The Del Sol High School staff is here to support students, parents and guardians as students strive to succeed academically and socially while they conquer the challenges of adolescence.

During the 2008-2009 school year, our faculty will work diligently to meet the standards set by the No Child Left Behind legislation.  We will be working with state representatives, parents, students and staff to better meet the demands of this initiative.

Parent communication has always been a priority for the administration and staff at our school.  To this end, we have fully implemented the use of ParentLink, an internet site that provides parents/guardians access to students’ grades, attendance and homework assignments on a weekly basis.  Letters including ParentLink passwords and directions will be mailed to every registered student before the end of this month.  We look forward to your comments and suggestions as we refine the use of this software throughout the school year.

Our first Parent Advisory Council meeting will be held on Monday, September 22nd at 9:30 a.m. in the Principal’s Conference Room. Our October meeting will be held in the evening on October 27th at 6:00 p.m.  We will alternate day/evening meetings throughout the year, so all parents have the opportunity to participate.  Parents, guardians, and community members are encouraged to attend.  Your input is essential, if we are to have a successful dialogue about your child’s educational program.  I look forward to seeing all of you at our Open House on October 7th at 6:00 p.m., at 6:30 p.m.
