Greetings Gladiators! I am proud to be the principal of Garside Jr. High School and enjoy working with the staff and students who brighten the halls of our school. I encourage parents and guardians to get involved with the Garside Community by attending school games, special family nights, concerts, and volunteering with special events, duties and field trips. I look forward to a productive year filled with learning for our students. As a native of Las Vegas, I am a product of the Clark County School District. I graduated from Durango High School, earned my Bachelor of Arts at Saint Martin’s College, and received my Master of Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As a teacher, I taught mathematics in grades six, seven, and eight. I coached boy’s basketball each school year as well. Prior to my arrival at Garside, I had the pleasure of working with the wonderful students, staff, and community of Fremont Middle School and subsequently Canarelli Middle School. I have a great deal of enthusiasm, love, and respect for education, kids, and athletics. In addition to my service as an administrator, I find the most joy and happiness in the three fundamental keystones of my life – my wife, my five children, and my faith.

I was born and raised in Douglas, Arizona. After receiving my bachelors degree in education from Western New Mexico University, I returned to my hometown to teach for 14 years. I have a master's degree in elementary education and Administration from Northern Arizona University. I came to teach for the Clark County School District in the Fall 1996. I taught ELL for 4 years then received an appointment into administration as Dean of Students for Charles I. West Middle School. This is my third year as Assistant Principal at Garside Junior High School. I am currently the administrator over curriculum and testing. I have enjoyed working for the Garside School Community and being bilingual (spanish speaker) it has allowed me to communicate with our large growing Hispanic population. We have a great bunch of students here at Garside and we hope to have the parent support and participation to ensure their success.

Hello Gladiators, parents, and friends. I am truly elated to get the opportunity to work with such a wonderful staff and student body here at Garside JHS. I was born and raised in Danville, VA. In 1977, I joined the Air Force and retired in 1997 at Nellis Air Force Base. Valley High School hired me as a math teacher in August 1997. That is where I picked up the phrase, "you are the best!" This was Mr. Montoya's (Principal of Valley High School) favorite phrase to describe his students. In 2004, I was hired by Spring Valley H.S. as a dean. The staff and students at both Spring Valley and Valley were absolutely wonderful. In order to get middle school experience, I joined Garside JHS in August 2007. The staff, students, and parents here are outstanding. I have an A.A in Airway Science, B.A. in Secondary Ed., a M.A. in Organization Management, M.A. in Education Administration, and a diploma in Biblical Studies. I am here to serve. If I can be of help in anyway, please feel free to contact me at 799-4245, ext. 4501. Thanks,
"In all ways remember that... you are the best!"
"We are the sculptors of today's children for tomorrow's world."
