Testing Tips
As you can see by the testing calendar, we have numerous high stakes testing throughout the school year. It is important that our students take these tests seriously. This data is not only used for parent information, but it is crucial for planning instruction and meeting district and state AYP guidelines. Discuss the following testing tips with your child to help him/her be better prepared for testing days.

• Have a good nights rest on a regular basis.
• Have a nutritious breakfast every day but especially during testing.
• You’re prepared, so relax!
• Study all the directions first, and then read all the questions.
• Be sure you understand a question before you answer it.
• Do the easier questions or the ones you understand first to boost your confidence.
• Answer multiple choice questions in your head first, then pick the answer that matches most closely.
• Take time to review your work and check your answers before handing in your test/answer sheet.

Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Meetings
Parents of Garside students are invited to participate PAC. The purpose of this council is to create a wholesome atmosphere between the home and school to give our young people purposeful educational experiences. The PAC meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of every month at 9:00 a.m.
