Computers
 The
school’s computer system is networked and includes at least three computers and
a laser printer in every classroom and a technology lab of 29 computers with
CD-RW drives, 5 printers, and a scanner. All
computers are equipped with CD-ROM capabilities, and both the lab and the
classrooms have Internet access though the Interact screening program which
allows children to view only educationally appropriate websites under the
watchful eyes of their teachers. Computer usage is integrated into daily
instruction through the use of classroom computers as centers and through whole
group lessons delivered in the computer lab. Gilbert teachers
 have access to
many programs on CD which are developmentally appropriate and reinforce concepts
presented in the curriculum. In addition, each grade level has access to digital cameras
and computers with the capability of inputting this digital
data directly into student generated multi-media reports or teacher newsletters.
