MIDI LAB
Gilbert has a MIDI/keyboarding
lab equipped with 12 student keyboards and a teacher station, each connected to iMac
computers. All of the student
stations are connected to a Group Education Controller which allows the teacher
to listen to individual students play or to give whole group instruction. This
facility allows our upper grade students to explore composition, improvisation
and notation through programs such as Music Shop. Younger children are given the
opportunity to use the lab to learn piano keyboarding skills. The
lab is also used for group piano lessons.
