Spring Matinee 2008

The fifteenth annual Gilbert Spring Matinee Performances took place in the Gilbert Magnet School Eshelman Theatre on Saturday, May 31, 2008.  The first grade students performed "How Does Your Garden Grow" by John Jacobson and John Higgins.  The second grade students performed "Bartholomew and the Oobleck" based on the book by Dr. Seuss and adopted by Theresa Hubbard with original songs by Kay Lehto and Judy Murray.  The Gilbert Magnet School Choir, directed by Kay Lehto and Ginny Beall and accompanied by Eddie Birch, sang a varied musical program which also included performances by our instrument and drum groups.  The third grade students performed "Why Mosquitoes Buzz: A West African Folk Tale"  by John Jacobson and Emily Crocker.  The fourth grade students performed "Eagle Boy", adopted from the Zuni legend by the fourth grade students. The fifth grade students performed "A Knight to Remember"   by Mary Donnelly and George L. O. Strid.
