Here are some great interactive websites for students to practice their math skills. Whenever you receive a progress report or a report card, you'll see Math is divided up by these content strands. Hopefully you can find some sites here to reinforce concepts and skills to help your child while giving them an enjoyable experience.For many of these sites, you’ll need Java, Flash, or Shockwave For the last 2, if you don’t want the Google toolbar to auto-install, make sure you uncheck it. These are all free downloads and perfectly safe to install

All Math Standards

Virtual Manipulatives - Lots of interactive activities for K-12, on numbers & operations, geometry, algebra, measurement, data analysis and probability.

Bitesize Shapes- Play and learn with activities on angles, grids/coordinates, measuring (metric – really great problem solving here too), and transformation
Home Design - Design your own house blueprint – opportunities given to practice measurement skills in area and perimeter as well as 3-d geometric perspective and transformation

Patterns, Functions, and Algebra (Content Strand)

Base 10 Blocks - Exploring Whole Decimal Numbers, Place Value, and even Algebra with Blocks
3-D Geometry - Interact with 3-D geometrical shapes, learning, reviewing, and applying geometric concepts. The site gives some feedback to correct responses.
(note - portion is in German, but it can be done because it's mostly visual - good to develop area and volume concepts)

Numbers, Number Sense, and Computation

Computation Games - Games to review addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division concepts

FunBrain - Arcade-like games are used to practice numeration and computation
BiteSize Number Practice - Interactive math activities covering addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, percentages, number patterns, and problem solving (note for the problem solving section - this is a British site and works with British money – still useful because of the thinking skills involved)

Data Analysis (Content Strand)

Create a Graph  - Create graphs, then figure out how you can use that information (Interpreting and analyzing data from graphs is a higher level thinking skill)
Handling Data - Work with some engaging games to create and interpret different types of graphs; mean, mode, and median; as well as probability.

Making your own math gameboards - Electronic coin toss to use for probability practice

Problem Solving (Process Strand) Many of the above sites listed in the content strands also work on problem solving as it’s a process.

Oddball -  Planning strategies to win this game is trickier than it seems.
Fruit Picker—Turn the fruit picking machine using various measurements of degree and see if you can pick the fruit in 6 tries or less. Here are some other similar games.
Math Playground - Go to the logic and word problems section to practice problem solving skills
