E.W Griffith Elementary School is located in the Southwest Region of Clark County School District. Serving an enrollment of approximately 500 students. Griffith successfully achieved AYP (annual yearly progress) for 2006-2007 and received the Platinum Honor Roll Award 2006-2007 presented by Nevada Reading First

E.W. Griffith came to Las Vegas in the early 1900's to build a round house for the Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. Griffith served as the first president of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce in 1913-1914. He later served terms as an Assemblyman and Senator. He was later a member of the Clark County School Board of Trustees from 1922 until his death in 1932. |
