Dear Griffith Community,
I cannot believe that a month has come and gone!  I just want to take the moment to thank you for your wonderful turnout for our Open House; all the smiles and positive interactions has truly made the transition here absolutely magnificent.   You should be very delighted to hear that your children are fantastic students; they come to school happy and eager to learn.  We have begun our writing preparations for fifth grade and are looking forward to our first staff development day.  As a reminder, there will be no school for students on October 03, 2008 our first staff development day.  .
During the month of October, students will be bringing home information about our fundraising, student activities, and other school events.  One such fundraiser will be the sale of cookie dough again this year.  We will be sending home ordering sheets on or about October 20, 2008 and will end the fundraiser on November 7, 2008 with cookie dough pickup on November 13, 2008.  The one event in October that I am most looking forward to is our Nevada Day Celebration.  I have heard so much about the event that I cannot wait to experience it first hand.
