Welcome to the campus of Helen Herr Sky Hawks.  Thank you for visiting our website.

My name is Howard Garrard, and I am the principal at Helen Herr Elementary. 

Herr Elementary is a great place be.  Our campus is filled with dedicated students, capable and extremely hard working teachers as well as helpful parents. Recognizing that education is a cooperative effort, our school motto is “Above and Beyond,” and we have students, teachers and parents who strive daily to go that distance! 

Our PTA does an outstanding job of supporting our students and staff.  Parents, teachers, relatives, friends and neighbors are encouraged to join PTA to show support for the Sky Hawks. 

Please watch closely for our monthly newsletters in order to be informed of events on our campus.  Too, thanks to this terrific website, you will be able to stay informed of current events at Helen Herr.  Plus, information will soon be posted here that will assist you in accessing ParentLink.  This computer generated program will provide you with an ongoing profile of your student’s progress as well as current attendance/absentee status.
Remember to find time each day to read with you students.  Reading with your child is a great twenty minute investment that will provide payoffs for your child’s lifetime.

Mrs. Toni L. Coleman-Harvey

My Name is Toni Harvey, and I am a native of Las Vegas.  Graduated from Rancho High School, Go RAMS!!  Attended UNLV right after high school and received a Bachelor of Science in Education (Elementary).  A few years later I enrolled in the University of Phoenix and obtained, with honors, a Master of Art in Education (Administration and Supervision).

I have been employed with the CCSD since 1991.  During which time I have had the opportunity to work as a secretary, licensed teacher, and now as an administrator.  It has been a wonderful experience progressing through “the ranks”.  I also joined the United States Army Reserve in 1988.  Within that time, I was called to serve my country during Desert Storm/Shield and Operation Noble Eagle/Enduring Freedom.  It has been a great experience serving my country as an enlisted soldier and now a First Lieutenant.

I am a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where I have served in various positions over the years. Currently, I am the Delta Scholars Committee chairperson which provides scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors.  I am also an advisor/mentor for high school girls and constantly provide community service.

I am a proud wife and mother of two children. My daughter, Charnell, 17 years old and my son, Lamon, 13 years old both attend Clark County schools.

In my spare time you can find me volunteering in my community.   I love the youth and I am constantly giving back to the community. I have made, and will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of the people that I meet.
