College Is For You!!!!

The cost of education after high school can be the single most important factor when determining if a person will attend college. The Bureau of Labor reports that people with a college degree earn 81% more on average than those with only a high school diploma. Over a lifetime, the gap in earnings potential between a high school diploma and a bachelor's degree is more than $1,000,000.

Only 29% of parents feel they will be prepared to cover the cost of sending their children to college. Fortunately, the state of Nevada offers three programs which are available to assist families with planning and saving for their child's education.

The Nevada Prepaid Tuition Program allows Nevada's parents, grandparents and families to lock in future college tuition rates at today's prices. In its sixth year, the success of this program has been tremendous! Parents may participate in a variety of savings options in the program, including choosing to pay on a monthly basis, in a one-time lump sum, or over five-year period with 60 equal payments. The money saved can be used at private or public in-state or out-of-state colleges and universities. Exempt from federal income tax, one's individual earnings within the program are distributed directly to any accredited university or college a child chooses to attend. These funds can also be transferred to another family member to use for college. The enrollment period for this year is now open through January 31, 2005. Don't delay! Make arrangements today!
