All students, staff and parents of the John F. Mendoza community
are committed to increasing individual student academic achievement
and providing opportunities to become independent thinkers, learners
and responsible citizens.

School Highlights

Trimester Honor Assemblies are held each trimester to acknowledge
students’ academic success, attendance, and application of Life Skills.

The Voyager Passport intervention program was implemented with students.
•
Professional Learning Communities and High Quality
Sheltered Instruction models have been implemented.
•
Lunch on the Lawn events provided families with an
opportunity to have lunch with their children and staff.
•
Class size reduction program provides smaller class
sizes for grades one through three.
•
Nevada Reading Week activities promote school-wide
participation in various activities to promote reading.
•
Second Cup of Coffee meetings are held each month
allow parents an opportunity to dialog with the principal.
•
Student of the Month program recognizes students from
each classroom with outstanding attendance, achievement,
and behavior.
•
Annual Grandparents’ Day Breakfast recognizes
and celebrates grandparents.
