With over 45 pages on the Watson Web Site, you may need some help! This index will help clarify which parts of our site you have and haven't been to yet. If a link is purple, you've been to it. If a link is blue, you haven't visited it yet. Hopefully this will make your visit as efficient and friendly as possible.
Page 1: The Home Page 1) Orients you to our school and 2) provides the master directory.
The Awards Page introduces awards that the Watson web page has "saddled up."
Page 2: General Information provides basic data like school hours and the academic calendar.
Online Directions provides written directions to explain how to get to Watson from anywhere in the Vallery. There are also maps that start broad and become more detailed as you get closer to our school. You can print these out and take them with you into the car!
The School Song explains the history behind our every Wrangler's favorite tune. The page provides lyrics while a midi file plays the melody.
Page 3: The School News keeps newsflash stories. This way, if you haven't visited in a few months (or this is your first time), you can get caught up on what's happened at our school.
Are Librarians Really Worth It? Answers this question as it shares research on the measurable benefits of having a full time Teacher-Librarian.
The Links Page 1) features library related links. There are links to research and literature based tools. There is a comprehensive list of links that are related to our public libraries.
Page 6: The Fredric W. Watson Online Museum. It 1) explains the career of Mr. Fredric W. Watson and 2) tells the history of our school.
The Museum Lobby / Directory describes how our school fits into the Vegas Valley's growth. It is also a directory and the beginning of the online museum.
Mr. Watson's Mail Pouch gives you the chance to write to Mr. Watson. You can also read questions that others have written and see Mr. Watson's responses.
The Building of Watson shows what our school looked like during the beginning stages of construction.
Page 8: On the PTA's Page, you can learn about what this organization does for our school.
To join the PTA, you can print out, fill out and send in the Membership Form with your $6.00.
Page 9: This page is about Emily, our school's desert tortoise. On her web page, you can find answers to questions like, who is Emily? How did we get her? Who takes care of her? It also has information about her age, weight and length.
Page 10: The Mojave Desert teaches about our local desert. It features pictures and facts about the desert just outside of North Las Vegas. Most pictures were taken within an hour drive of Watson. This desert gallery is designed to teach about the Mojave, since there are so few materials for children on the topic.
Page 11: On the Watson Fun Page, you will find lots of neat things to do. You can take the poll, tell a cyber-friend about this site, join the mailing list or write what you think about this web site to the creator.
Page 12: The List of Web Links gives an extended list of web links that coorespond to each page of the Watson site.
