In partnership with the Instituto Nacional para la Educacion de los Adultos (INEA), AELAS offers classes that allow native Spanish speakers to receive a high school diploma in their native language.

INEA is for persons of Mexican origin, 18 years or older, who cannot read and write or have not completed primary and / or secondary education.  Courses include Alfabetizacion, Primaria, Secundaria, and Preparatoria.

Some of the goals of INEA are:

  • To respond to the needs, aspirations and interests of students
  • To encourage the development of the individual
  • To consider the skills, experiences, and values each student brings to his/her studies in order to facilitate expanded learning and acquisition of new skills
  • To leverage the capabilities of students to promote self-education (learning to learn)
