Insurance Services Unit
The Vision of the Risk & Insurance Services Section of the Risk & Environmental Services Department is to maintain appropriate insurance coverage or find alternative funding mechanisms to adequately protect the district's assets.
The Insurance Services section's primary responsibility is the administration of the District's self-insurance programs, along with managing the District's excess insurance policy purchases and coverages. The Insurance Services section also is responsible for establishing and approving the insurance requirements for all District vendor/contractor/supplier contracts and all professional services contracts or special events usage of District facilities. They also provide documentation for proof of insurance on the District's behalf, for all contracts where the District is required to provide evidence of insurance.
