Proposed Capital Improvement Program 2012
On May 2, 2012, the Board of Trustees initiated action to place a question before voters in November for a capital improvement program to renovate older schools through a six-year program to serve as a "bridge" until other long-term needs could be addressed. The proposed $.212 (twenty-one point two cents) increase in property tax per $100 of valuation would provide for school needs, including school rehabs/modernization, HVAC, electrical, technology and other equipment, on a "pay-as-you-go-basis" as funds, projected at $669 million, become available over time.
