CCSD Professional Growth System (PGS)

The following information is provided for teachers and other licensed employees who are accruing Contact Units (CUs) for column advancement.

PGS Information sessions are listed in the Enterprise Learning Management System (ELMS) (Learning Activity keyword “PGS Information”).

Annual Deadlines

June 1 – Deadline to submit the Request for Column Advancement for the next contract year. If a licensed employee fails to comply with this deadline, then the employee will not advance a column the next contract year. This form opens in early March and closes on the June 1 deadline. August 31 – Deadline to complete all requirements for all hours/coursework being used for the column advancement for the current contract year.

October 1 – Deadline to submit required documentation within the ELMS for ALL activities completed during the advancement cycle is October 1 of the year the employee is advancing. Submissions of activities completed during a previous advancement window will not be accepted. Official university transcripts must be received by the PGS and Nevada Educator Performance Framework (NEPF) department via e-transcript from the university at pgs@nv.ccsd.net or at the following physical address:

Licensed employees submitting documentation for PGS advancement must know:

  • Employees must submit original, unaltered documentation in the ELMS as provided by the issuing organization.
  • Employees modifying documentation provided by the issuing organization and submitting altered documentation in the ELMS for PGS advancement may result in discipline up to and including termination.

PGS Reference Guide

The Reference Guide contains the activities that may be used for CU accrual within the Professional Growth System:

The transition to the 9/1/23 PGS Reference Guide adheres to the following understandings:

  • Activities completed prior to 5/1/24 will accrue via the 10/16/17 PGS Reference Guide categories and maximums.
  • Activities completed on or after 5/1/24 will accrue via the 9/1/23 PGS Reference Guide categories and maximums.
  • If a licensed employee has accrued CUs in line with the 10/16/17 PGS Reference Guide maximums on or before 5/1/24 that exceed the 9/1/23 PGS Reference Guide maximums, then the employee will keep the higher amount of CUs accrued up to the higher category maximum.
  • If a licensed employee has not met or exceeded a 10/16/17 PGS Reference Guide category maximum based on activities completed through 5/1/24, then the employee's CU accrual will be held to the 9/1/23 PGS Reference Guide maximums.
  • Activities being claimed for CU accrual to a higher maximum (10/16/17 PGS Reference Guide) that are completed after the 5/1/24 posting of the 9/1/23 PGS Reference Guide will need the employee to also submit registration confirmation of the activity to ensure the activity was registered/paid for prior to the 9/1/23 PGS Reference Guide posting.

Links to all documents are provided below. Download and save the Approval Form prior to typing into it. Once completed and signed, the form will need to be part of the documents uploaded to one’s Google Drive and submitted as a link for Self-Reported Activities.
