Government Relations

The Government Relations Department builds and sustains close relationships with local, state, and federal officials to increase support for student-centric public policy that supports the unique needs of the District. The Government Relations team represents the District in matters concerning Congress, the Nevada Legislature, the Nevada State Board of Education, the Nevada Department of Education, and local governments. The Department helps:

develop legislative priorities;
represent the District at legislative hearings
lobby during the legislative session
meet with legislators during the interim to assist with the education-related concerns of their constituents, and
serve as a District contact on various public policy issues.

The office also monitors the District's compliance with legislation during the interim.
