Sponsors Partnerships

CCSD has partnered with three sponsors of the J-1 Visa program. Our preferred partners are Alliance Abroad Group, Greenheart, and Global Ambassadors Program. Any international candidate seeking to work in CCSD must be sponsored by one of these three organizations. It is highly recommended that current J-1 Visa holders transferring to the CCSD from another school district in the US be sponsored by one of these three organizations.

Please note that CCSD does not pay any fees related to the J-1 Visa process, and it is the responsibility of the applicant to submit the necessary paperwork and program fees to the appropriate sponsor. The sponsor is designated by the U.S. Department of State and is responsible for upholding the BridgeUSA program regulations. Their role and responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring eligibility of all Teach candidates against an extensive list of requirements including experience, education, references.
  • Vetting host school placement offers for suitability for the program.
  • Providing clear information to all teachers on program rules, requirements and expectations as well as guidance on living in the U.S. in pre-departure orientations.
  • Training hiring agencies and host schools on J-1 regulations to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Issuing DS-2019 paperwork needed to secure a J-1 visa appointment with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the teacher’s home country.
  • Providing 24/7 support once teachers have arrived in-country, providing help, guidance and support on related processes as needed including Social Security support, checking into SEVIS, housing support, annual renewal and submission of teachers annual reports, the extension opportunity after three years of teaching are completed, and ensuring access to and participation in cultural activities, and monthly check-ins.
  • Ensuring teachers have the required insurance coverage as outlined in program regulations and providing medical evacuation and repatriation coverage.

The District is not currently looking to partner with additional sponsors.
