Civil Infractions

NOTICE:

You have been cited for a civil infraction pursuant to Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) Chapter 484A. This is a non-criminal offense. You are required to respond to this citation within 90 calendar days from the date the citation was issued or the date printed on your citation.

Your options are:

1. Pay the civil penalty: By paying the penalty, you admit responsibility for the infraction. Payment can be made online, by mail, or in person

2. Contest the citation: To dispute the infraction, you must complete and submit a Civil Infraction Response Form and post a bond equal to the total amount of the civil penalty, administrative assessments, and any applicable fees. This must be done in person at the Customer Service Division. Upon submission, a contested hearing date will be scheduled.

Failure to respond within the above time period will result in:

• A default judgment finding you responsible for the infraction.

• Imposition of the civil penalty, administrative assessments, and any additional fees.

• Referral of the debt to collections, which may include additional collection fees.

• Potential suspension of your driver's license by the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles.
